Our team of bricklayers are highly skilled in the restoration of brick constructions. Whether it’s replacing or refacing damaged bricks, reforming gauged arches through both rubbed and gauged techniques, or repointing areas to match the original design, we specialise in restoring buildings to their original condition.

We offer a wide range of repointing services, including the option to repoint in the style and type that best suits the period of the building. Our expertise allows us to accurately match the original pointing, ensuring that the restoration work is seamless and indistinguishable from the original.

In addition to repointing, we also provide colour matching and repair work on-site, as needed. Our expertise allows us to blend new mortar with the original, creating a seamless and cohesive look.

We also offer new construction brick and blockwork services. We incorporate various bond patterns, such as stretcher, English, Flemish, and more, to create visually appealing features such as panels, dog tooth, hit & miss, and recessed patterns.

When it comes to structural works, we have the expertise to handle projects using the full range of block specifications, from high-density to lightweight blocks. We can accommodate any project specifications, including Porotherm Clay Blocks, depending on the requirements of the project.

“Construction Manager Magazine - Nov 2020 article “The original cornicing was moulded on to the ceiling and these sections were removed and later reinstated by our restoration specialist – AVV Solutions – who had to make good every individual cornice. A lot of the plaster on the walls had de-bonded – we used a ‘knock test’ to check this – and in these cases the plaster was removed under semi-controlled conditions because of the asbestos risk. This was replaced with lime plaster. The drawback here is the time it takes to dry, probably a week for two coats. Logistics was key to managing this work. We created a programme where eBrit would hack off the plaster, then AVV would follow through to replace it, moving from room to room.
